“Reading books is the most beautiful game humanity has ever invented.”
— Wisława Szymborska
At our school, reading plays an important role in pupils’ everyday life. Children eagerly reach for books, treating them as a source of pleasure, knowledge and inspiration. The library is therefore a familiar and much-loved place for them. It is not only a lending library, but also a friendly, safe space for quiet reading, relaxation and spending time together over board games that support the development of social skills and logical thinking.
The school library is a special environment where learning meets passion, and reading becomes a natural part of everyday life. It is a place that nurtures imagination, independent thinking and curiosity about the world.
Book Collection
The school’s collection includes, among others:
- fairy tales and folk tales
- comics
- children’s literature
- adventure and contemporary fiction
- fantasy
- young adult literature
— available in both Polish and English.
The collection is regularly expanded and adapted to pupils’ age and interests.
A Centre for Knowledge and Learning Support
The school library also serves as an “information centre”. Pupils have access to:
- textbooks
- encyclopaedias
- dictionaries
- supplementary materials supporting learning and project work
Librarians provide professional guidance in finding appropriate sources, teach information skills, and support pupils in developing their interests and passions.
Let’s Build the Library Together
We encourage the entire school community to help shape the collection.
If your child has recently read a valuable book worth recommending to other pupils, please send the title and author (or a link to the publication) to: sekretariat@bcschool.pl
