Teaching Program for Grades I - III
Our school’s educational, didactic, and organizational conceptis consistent and encompasses not only lessons but also extracurricular activities, volunteering, student-inspired activities, and free time spent in the school club. Our primary goal is to gently introduce children to the world of knowledge, and our staff’s priority is to individually support children in all aspects of development, such as intellectual, emotional, social, ethical, physical, and aesthetic.
At the same time, we want our students to acquire the knowledge and skills needed for a young person to explore and understand the world, cope with everyday situations and continue their education in grades IV-VIII of primary school. It is important for us to discover students’ strengths, help them develop their talents and create the right conditions to achieve these goals.

English language programme
The best-suited program for students’ abilities and educational capacities in grades I-III includes:
- From grade I subject teaching in English. For learning science, we use materials such as Cambridge Primary Science and Mathematics and Macmillan Science and Mathematics, which connect standard teaching of science and mathematics as separate subjects and integrated language- subject teaching (CLIL). Cultural and literary CLIL education is based on materials prepared by our teachers.
- From grade II we help children develop their reading and writing comprehension using the glottodidactics (syntheticphonics) method. We use materials from Usborne, Oxford Floppy’s Phonics Sounds and Letters and many materials prepared by our English language teachers.
- From grade III we conduct storytelling classes based on classics of children’s literature. Younger students get acquainted with protagonists like Paddington Bear, mischievous Goldilocks, Winnie the Witch, and many heroes from Julia Donaldson’s bestsellers. Older students create their own versions of stories based on cultural texts, using various media such as theatrical forms or multimedia tools, and process popular texts through parody or travesty.
Teachers work with students using the
language immersion method. It focuses on
immersing the child in a foreign language,
developing listening comprehension,
speaking skills and introducing a wide range
of vocabulary. In practice, this means that
during lessons, as well as during breaks,
extracurricular activities and school trips,
teachers communicate with students only in
English.
Additional classes in English are also
available for interested students after school
hours. All students are welcome to join our
afternoon book meetings and artistic
handicraft workshops, both being
conducted in English.
